Aquatinted (Matsuoka Rin x Reader) Chp. 6

The tournament was the next day and _____'s nerves were getting the best of her. Should she go? Could she handle it?
The afternoon's dim lights lulled her form into a relaxed disposition. She wanted to see Rin, she needed to see him. After having spoken to Gou she was debating whether she should go talk to him or not. Suddenly a question popped into her head making her blush. If she went to see Rin, would he bite her again? Her fingers automatically brushed against her neck. She could feel the remnants of the bite on her skin. The skin was irritated for a while, but after a few hours it quelled leaving behind a small mark. Her fingers brushed against the slightly calloused area and the heat in her face intensified.
The situation played in her mind and she drifted off in the flashback. Could she dare say it, dare say she might have enjoyed it? The way his teeth grazed her skin. The way the tip of his tongue had brushed up against the bite, soothing the slight burn. Or the way his strong arms encircled her, his chest pressed up against her own. Her body tingled at the memory and she felt an unfamiliar flutter in her chest. She finally closed her eyes tightly, willing the memory away.

Later that night she decided to call Gou and inform her of the possibility of her appearance at the tournament. She hesitantly dialed the number and listened to the dial tone, waiting for an answer.

"_____-chan?" Gou's voice piped up

"Hi, I'm sorry for calling you this late."

"Don't worry about it, is everything okay?"

"Yes everything is good, I just wanted to ask you about tomorrow's tournament."

"Oh! Have you decided whether you'll be coming or not?"

"Well, yes and no. I might be stopping by."

"That's great, but please try to make it. We could use all the support we can get."

"I'll try my best, I will call you before coming."

"Okay, I guess I'll see you tomorrow."

"Good night."

Hanging up the phone ______ stared silently at the call log. Why couldn't she make up her mind?
Eventually, she curled up in her bed to get some rest for the night and decide later.

The morning of the tournament had ______ in total disarray. She barely got any sleep the night before, so she woke up pretty late. Checking the time on her alarm clock she panicked. The tournament had already begun! She shot up out of bed and started getting dressed. She ignored her sleep riddled muscles, and charged outside the door of her house. _______ mounted her bicycle and paddled her way to the venue. She dearly wanted to see Rin swim, to catch a glimpse of his magnificent form.

Once in front of the venue she stood frozen. With no specific action in mind she picked up her phone and dialed Gou's number.

"______-chan! Where are you?"

"I'm on my way inside." replied ______

"You just missed Rin and Haruka's heat!"

"What?! What happened?"

"Rin won."

There was a melancholic undertone in Gou's voice and ______ panicked. She hung up the phone without another word and made her way inside. Running through the corridors she reached the stadium and spotted the gang on the sidelines. She paced her way towards them unflinching.

"Where are they?" she asked

"In the locker rooms I think." replied Nagisa

There was a slight pause in the conversation as she calculated what to do next. Should she go look for them? Before she could decide on any course of action the team stood up. They all decided to go look for Haruka. Makoto looked at her flustered, and unsure what to do before hastily making his way to the other boys. Instantaneously she followed behind the boys.

Weaving through the many corridors of the venue the group searched for Haruka. They searched thoroughly, Makoto bounding behind them in an attempt to stop them. In their search they accidentally bumped into Rin. His eyes instantly caught _______'s __e/c__ irises.
A heated argument commenced between the boys and _______ stood back silently. There were many reevaluations she made at the new information that was disclosed to her in the conversation. Eventually the argument ended with Rin's widened eyes staring blankly ahead. He snapped out of his shock and narrowed his eyes at _________.

"You! Come with me!"

All eyes landed on her and she froze. She made no move towards Rin until he snapped irritatedly at her, "Now!"

She slithered between the boys and stood directly facing Rin. He made no hesitation in firmly grasping her by the elbow and dragging her along with him. She looked back worriedly at the boys and noticed they all shared a look of shock. She looked at Makoto pleadingly, hoping he could understand the situation and explain it to the others. At first he seemed disconnected, until eventually his features softened and he gave her a gentle nod. Rin turned his head to look at _______ to find her staring back at Makoto. A jealous rage erupted in his chest and his fingers tightened around her arm. _______ looked back at Rin due to the harsh treatment and frowned slightly.

"Stop looking back and walk faster!" he growled at her

______ obeyed silently, until they turned a corner and vanished from the other's sights. She harshly untangled her limb from his hold and glared at him defiantly.

"What was that all about? Do you know that it actually hurt!"

Rin flexed his fingers and stared at them silently. He was starting to question his knowledge of his own strength. It was obvious he couldn't control himself anymore around _________.

His eyes snapped to her form and he answered harshly, "Why are you still hanging out with those complete idiots?"

"Well if you remember well, those complete idiots used to be your friends!"

"Used to be! Not anymore!"

"How can you be so cold to them?"

"It's non of your business!"

"If it's non of my business, then why do you get so pissed when you see me even looking at Makoto?"

Rin's only reply was to grasp her by the waist and pull her closer. ________ uncharacteristically relaxed against his form. Rin was looking directly at her, his breath fanning against her face. She noticed him glance unsurely at her lips. He tangled his fingers in her hair and pulled her closer, until their lips finally met. _________ was shocked at first, her eyes gone wide. Realizing the position she was in, she let her eyelids slide closed and her lips respond to the kiss. Rin slowly pulled away from the kiss, looking at _______ to see her reaction. She had a slight flush to her cheeks, but a determined look graced her eyes. She then suddenly pulled him in for another kiss. Rin instinctively backed her up against the wall and pushed his body flush against hers. Rin's fingers sneakily slid under her shirt, and splayed against the skin of her lower back. Tingles ran up her spine at Rin's touch and she hooked her fingers in Rin's flaming locks. He nibbled on her lower lip and she fought to hold back the whimper that erupted from her. At last they untangled. _______'s breath was coming out in short, shallow gusts and her cheeks were even more flushed. Rin eyed her plump lips and the rise-and-fall of her chest. Her back was settled on the wall, her knees were wobbling slightly and she could barely stand.

"It's because I'm the only one allowed to do that."
